CYPRESS, Texas — Alta “Elly” Marie Armstrong, age 49, of Cypress, Texas, died Friday, April 4, 2014, at Emerus Hospital after her 7-year battle with ovarian cancer.
Born March 24, 1965, in Ashtabula, Ohio, she was a 1983 graduate of Edgewood Senior High and Ashtabula Joint Vocational School. She married her husband, Kenneth Edward Armstrong, on April 14, 1984, at the First Baptist Church of Ashtabula in Ashtabula, Ohio.
Elly worked for BP Oil in Cleveland, Ohio, for 15 years and worked for Accenture in Houston, Texas, for 11 years.
She was an active member of (DAR) Daughters of American Revolution and enjoyed spending time with her family and cross stitching.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Edward Armstrong of Cypress, Texas; one son, Kenneth Russell and wife, Jessika, Armstrong of Cypress, Texas; one daughter, Stephinie Marie Armstrong of Cypress, Texas; two grandchildren, Emme Rae Armstrong and Kaylee Jo Marie Armstrong of Cypress, Texas; her father, William Edward Humphrey of West Palm Beach, Fla.; one sister, Kara Lynn Altman of Lake Worth, Fla.; one brother, William Russell and wife, Pamela, Humphrey of Windsor, Conn.; and In-laws, Kenneth Russell and Shirley Ann (May) Armstrong of Ashtabula, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William Charles and Alta Marian (Brooks) Humphrey of Ashtabula, Ohio, and Russell Alfred and Dortha Marie (Diddle) Marrison of Ashtabula, Ohio.
Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. at the Graveside on Friday, April 18th. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, Ohio 44011.
