ASHTABULA — RoseMarie Magnusen, age 76, of West 48th St., Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Saybrook Landing.
She was born Nov. 11, 1936, in Johnstown, Pa., the daughter of Michael Paul and Angeline Grace (Germanaro) DaBella and had been an Ashtabula resident for over 40 years after moving here from Eastlake.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a cook at Country Club Retirement Center and previously worked in the lunch room for the Ashtabula Area City Schools.
A member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she was very proud of her Italian heritage. She loved cooking and baking, good conversation and debates, sewing, and crafts such as making wreaths, trinkets and home decorations. Rose was also a huge Elvis Presley fan.
Her survivors include six children, Daniel Flanagan of Rome, Donald Flanagan of Wickliffe, Diana Flanagan, Denise Flanagan (Tim) Yankie of Madison, Kristina Magnusen-Gomez of Bradenton, Fla., and Miala (Rich) Magnusen-Coy of Ashtabula; 12 grandchildren, Missy, Mindy, Kayla, Danny, Chandel, Courtney, Tim, Miguel, Jessie, Alex, Tyree and Kadyn; five great-grandchildren, Duane, Ryan, Logan, Kayla and Ryan; and four sisters, Linda Cort of Lancorn, Pa., Dorothy Bloor of Morrisville, Pa., Vickie Mclay of Burlein, N.J., and Joanne Roberts of Spring Grove, Pa.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Johnathan; one brother, Paul DaBella; and her parents.
Calling Hours will be held at the ZABACK-WILIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, on Friday, August 9th, from 5 p.m. until the time of Service at 7 p.m. Marvin Williams, of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, will officiate.
