CONNEAUT — Richard J. “Dick” Cornuet, age 56, of Conneaut, died early Friday, August 2, 2013, at Lake Pointe Rehabilitation Center.
Dick was born Jan. 19, 1957, in Conneaut, the son of Richard and Jane (Lauer) Cornuet. He was a 1975 graduate from Conneaut High School.
Dick worked during high school at the former REC Bowling Alley on Broad Street and also at El Camp Lanes. He was an avid bowler years ago and enjoyed white water rafting. He also worked at the former Fishers Big Wheel and Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He later moved to Arizona and worked at the McDonald Douglas Airplane Company for several years and also worked in North Carolina at a golf course. He returned to Conneaut in 2005 and worked at Pinney Dock.
He was a member of St. Mary/St. Frances Cabrini Parish and loved to be outdoors working and doing yard work.
Dick was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his mother, Jane Cornuet of Conneaut; brother, Jon Cornuet of Littleton, Colo.; sister, Jayne and Gary King of West Springfield, Pa.; his companion, Kim Esposito of Conneaut and her daughter, Emille Esposito; nieces and nephews, Steven Adams, Tracy Adams, Joel and Allison Cornuet and Jay Cornuet; great-nieces and great-nephews, Shelby, Kayda Games, Kinley Drew Cornuet; aunts, Blanch Dick of Coalport, Pa. and Joyce Swires of Ashville, Pa.; an uncle, James and Mary Ellen Lauer of Conneaut; and several cousins.
Calling Hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 6th, at RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.
Mass of the Christian Burial will celebrated 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 7th, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, with Fr. Philip Miller, of St. Mary/St. Frances Cabrini Parish, and the Rev. Franklin Gore, of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, concelebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Conneaut.
