GENEVA — Janet L. Norris St. John, age 80, of Ashtabula, died Thursday afternoon, Oct. 17, 2013, a Rae-Ann Geneva Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Dec. 22, 1932, in Boyers, Pa., the daughter of Joseph and E. Georgetta (Gaiser) Kiser. She had lived in Ashtabula County much of her life.
Janet was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Conneaut, which she had a very spiritual closeness. She always enjoyed family and remained very close to her children and grandchildren. She loved flowers and gardening and feeding and watching birds.
She is survived by four children, Brenda Shahan of Kingsville, Dixie (Richard) Selip of Geneva, Rick (Vicky) Norris of Lakewood, N.Y. and John (Kim) Norris of Painesville; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Imogene Sloan of Grove City, Pa. and Kathy Barron of Leesburg, Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Amy Norris; her first husband, Richard R. Norris in 1995; her second husband, George St. John in 2003; a son-in-law, Arthur Shahan; a step-daughter, Dianna Rayner; two brothers, Eugene and Joseph Kiser; and a sister, Gloria Bartoe.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Rae-Ann and Hospice of the Western Reserve for the care and attention they gave their mother.
Funeral Services will be held 3 p.m., Monday, at First Assembly of God Church, 389 W. Main Road, Conneaut, with the Rev. George Fink officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Calling Hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS AND CREMATORY, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004, envelopes will also be at the funeral home.
