CONNEAUT — Kyle Vernon Andes, age 95, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, March 2, 2013, at The Villa at the Lake.
He was born Jan. 18, 1918, in Conneaut, to Enos E. and Julia R. (Mace) Andes. A lifelong Conneaut resident, Kyle graduated in the first class from the former Rowe High School.
He was a locomotive engineer on the Belleview Division of the Nickel Plate Railroad, retiring from Norfolk & Western Railroad in 1979.
He was a member of the First Assembly of God, where he served as a deacon at one time and belonged to the Men’s Fellowship. He was also a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Engineers and Firemen. In his leisure time, Kyle enjoyed farming, gardening and woodcutting.
Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Demarest of Westwood, N.Y. and Janet Thome of Conneaut, Ohio; three sons, Gary (Sandy) Andes of The Villages, Fla., David (Sandra) Andes of Frost Proof, Fla. and Roger (Karen) Andes of North Kingsville, Ohio; his brother, Virgil (Jean) Andes of Conneaut, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jessie in 2008; and two brothers, Marvin and Duane Andes.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 5th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Pastor Gary Russell, of the Christian Missionary Alliance, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling Hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the Funeral Home.
