SARASOTA, Fla. — Robert I. Gephart, age 79, of Sarasota, formerly of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013.
He was born on April 5, 1933, in Circleville, Ohio. He was a graduate of DePauw U. (1955), Fraternity affiliation Phi Gamma Delta. Graduate School of Banking, U. of Wisconsin (1975). Robert was an active member of the U.S. Army from 1955-1957 and in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1957-1963.
A resident of Barrington, Ill. for 32 years, he was in the banking business before relocating to Sarasota in 1988.
He was preceded in death by his parents, E. I. Gephart and Opal Stanforth Gephart.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Phyllis Held Gephart; son, Michael H. Gephart of Sarasota; daughter, Ann Gephart Moore (Tim) of Arlington Heights, Ill.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Gene C. Gephart of Ashtabula, Ohio.
In Sarasota, he was a parishioner at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church on Longboat Key where his Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 5th, his 80th birthday. Inurnment to follow in church memorial garden.
