ASHTABULA — Michael Dean Patton, age 32, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at his residence.
The son of Clinton Dean and Karen (Sturgill) Patton, he was born on May 5, 1981, in Ashtabula, and had remained a lifelong area resident. Mike was a graduate of Harbor High School class of 1999.
On Sept. 27, 2003, he married Jessica Winchell and together they would have celebrated ten years of marriage this year.
Mike enjoyed lifting weights and basketball, but boxing was his true passion; he knew the amount of practice and hard work that it took to be competitive in the world of boxing. Mike was a gentle, giving person; he loved his family and friends with a great amount of joy and enthusiasm. If you needed help, he was the first to come and help and the last one to leave. Mike will be remembered for his larger than life heart, his love of his children and wife, and the special love he had for his grandma, Hollie Patton.
Mike is survived by his wife, Jessica; his daughter, Bryonna; son, Brandon, all of Ashtabula; his step-brothers and sisters, Christopher, Jessica Rose, Jamie, Shannon, Michael and Joe; his mother, Karen Sturgill-Wahl; and his beloved grandma, Hollie B. Patton.
Mike was preceded in death by his son, Michael Wray Patton on Oct. 28, 2002; his father, Clinton Dean Patton on March 4, 2010; and his grandfather, Frank Patton on July 28, 1994.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 23rd, at Pentecostal Church of God, 2201 Cook Road, Ashtabula, Ohio, with his pastor, the Rev. Kenneth Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Saybrook Cemetery next to his son and father.
Calling Hours will be observed from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 22nd, at DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio.
If desired, contributions in Mike’s name may be made to the Pentecostal Church of God, 2201 Cook Road, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
