COLEBROOK — Wilma G. Easton, age 91, died peacefully at her home on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, with her loving family by her side.
The daughter of Chauncey E. and Lena M. Howard, Wilma was born on Feb. 10, 1922, in Colebrook, Ohio. She was married to her loving and devoted husband, Elwin C. (Junior) Easton on August 25, 1940. Together they raised their six children on their farm in Colebrook.
She was a caring and supportive wife and mother. She enjoyed tending to her animals, being a homemaker, and working as secretary for the family business.
Wilma cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, her dog, “Lucky” and her cat, “Kitten.”
She was a faithful and dedicated member of Colebrook United Methodist Church. Wilma was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, the local election board and was a 4-H leader for numerous years. She dedicated much of her time and talents to her church and various community organizations. She was a true philanthropist and supported many worthy charities. Wilma had a love for, and never stopped learning. She was proficient on the computer, even using Skype and Facebook to keep in touch with her family.
Wilma is survived by her husband, Elwin C. Easton; one sister, Pauline Limestoll; six children, Harland Easton of Colebrook, Ohio, Judie (Richard) Loveless of Jacksonville, Fla., Darl (Janna) Easton of Bedford, Texas, Leland (Cecilia) Easton of Orwell, Ohio, Lawrence (Darlene) Easton of Colebrook, Ohio and Paul Easton of Boston, Ga.; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her ever-growing family was blessed with many wonderful memories and she will be forever missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Claude Howard; and one sister, Edith Howard.
The Funeral Service will be officiated by her great-grandson, the Rev. Christopher Easton, at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 14th, at PAINE FUNERAL HOME INC., 140 E. Main St., Orwell, Ohio. The Committal Service officiated by Pastor Laurie Evinsky will follow at Colebrook Township North Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13th, with the Orwell American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary conducting Services at 6:45 p.m.
