MIDDLEFIELD — Ethel (Benak) Demeter, age 96, died April 10, 2014, at Briar Hill Heath Care Residence in Middlefield, Ohio.
She was born on Jan. 29, 1918, in Clairton, Pa., and spent her youth in Green, Ohio, on the family farm developing a fondness for homemaking, gardening, animals, automobiles, bowling, playing cards, board games, dancing and eating out.
She married John Demeter on Sept. 19, 1936, eventually moving to Orwell, where she resided until 2009. She retired from Sanborn Wire Products after 26 years. She previously worked in the agriculture and food service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Rosi (Fila) Benak; husband, John (1987); son, James; sister, Anna Benak Warren; brothers, Paul and Frank Benak; and numerous family and friends.
She is survived by four generations of nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life, Ethel maintained a “Feisty” determination living in the present moment.
A Private Funeral Service was held at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Green, Ohio.
