PATRICIA M. M. MCDONALD
N. KINGSVILLE - - Patricia M. Morrow McDonald, age 69, of North Kingsville, Ohio, died Saturday afternoon, August 11, 2007, at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
She was born Jan. 1, 1938, in McKeesport, Pa., and was the daughter of Arthur G. and Louise (Cullen) Freelander.
An area resident for the past 49 years, Mrs. McDonald had been employed as a Vending Supervisor at A.V.I. Food Systems, retiring in 2003.
She was a member of Amboy United Methodist Church, where she served on the Trustees; was a member for more than 35 years of T.O.P.S. #869 of Kingsville, Ohio; the Women of the Moose; and the Rebekahs.
She enjoyed playing the organ; and traveling, especially bus trips.
Survivors include three daughters, Eileen (Pat) Guillermo of Las Vegas, Nev., Diane (Ron) Flowers of N. Kingsville, Ohio, and Joyce (Mike) Bloom of N. Kingsville, Ohio; her son, Paul (Phyllis) Morrow of Highlands, Tex.; four step-daughters, Johnny Morrow of Raymer, Tenn., Sharon (Bob) Rutherford of Conneaut, Ohio, Betty Tompkins of Willoughby, Ohio, and Alice (Frank) Ventura of Willoughby, Ohio; three step-sons, William McDonald of Hartford, Ala., Kenneth (Becky) McDonald of Conneaut, Ohio, and Norman McDonald Jr. of Holland, Mich.; 25 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, John A. Morrow and Norman A. "Murph" McDonald; and her brother, Bill Freelander.
Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at the MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with the Rev. Tami Toothman-Shoup, pastor of Amboy United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville, Ohio.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

MICHAEL J. MAURO JR.
N. KINGSVILLE - - Michael J. Mauro Jr., age 37, "the man of steel," died after a short illness Saturday, August 11, 2007, at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He fought a courageous 30-year battle with a severe, yet unknown, form of muscular dystrophy.
Mike was born June 20, 1970, in Amherst, Ohio, the son of Michael and Emmy (McConnell) Mauro, Sr. and had been a lifelong area resident.
He was formerly employed in the grounds keeping department of P.M. Maintenance and Construction in Ashtabula.
A very giving person, he invited many close cousins and friends to share his home.
Mike was a lifelong member of Kingsville Baptist Church and had several hobbies and interest. Music was an especially important part of his life. An avid Internet surfer for the past 10 years, he enjoyed MySpace and eBay. He worshipped the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a huge fan of professional wrestling.
Mike loved "Superman" ever since he was a little boy and gained inspiration from Christopher Reeve as well, following his progress as he fought to rehab from a spinal cord injury.
Mike is survived by a large group of family and friends. At his home in N. Kingsville, he resided with his trusty canine companion, Taz. Besides his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Nichole (John) Engelmann and Tia (Nick) Rhodes, nephews, Gion and Jager Engelmann, and a niece, MaKenna Rhodes, all of North Kingsville; grandparents, Pete and Shirley Mauro of Ashtabula; Alma (Forde) McConnell-Page of N. Kingsville; several aunts, uncles, and cousins (who often called him "Mikey"); and special friends, Mary Jane Thompson and Joyce Winters.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Woodrow V. McConnell.
A Service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at the First Baptist Church, 6003 St. Rt. 193, Kingsville, Ohio. The Rev. David Hines, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville.
Calling Hours will be at the church Monday, August 13, 2007, from 6 to 9 p.m.

CHAGRIN FALLS - - Judith "Judy" Kocher, age 87, of Hamlet Hills Drive, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, formerly of Glen Ave., Ellwood City, Pa., died on Friday, August 10, 2007, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
Born on August 17, 1919, in Ellwood City, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Steve and Rachel Fullop Pozsgi. She was married for 58 years to the late Norman Earl Kocher, who died February 1, 2005. Judy graduated from Lincoln High School, Ellwood City, Pa., Class of 1937, and studied drafting and engineering writing at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Judy was formerly employed at Mathews Conveyor / Rexnord in Ellwood City. She and her husband built and operated the BeachKomer Motel Apartments at Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio, for 57 years.
She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, a fifty-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star #212, a member of the Ellwood City Woman's Club and Art Club, Hungarian Women's Club, Charlie's Angels Dance Club, and former secretary and longtime historian for the Ellwood City AARP.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Carl and Mary Ann Kocher of Pepper Pike, Ohio, and Dr. Thomas Earl and Laurie Dill-Kocher of Rochester, New York; and two grandsons, Jason Thomas Kocher and Brandon Richard Kocher.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Sara Choff, on January 27, 2002; and two brothers, Steve Pozsgi on April 14, 2002, and Andy, in infancy.

JOSEPH L. QUINN JR.
MADISON - - Joseph Louis Quinn Jr., age 58, a resident of Madison, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2007, in Dorset, Ohio.
Born Dec. 5, 1948, in Geneva, he was a son of the late Alberta Lola (Brooks) and Joseph Louis Quinn Sr. A Veteran, he served in the United States Army during Vietnam. On August 10, 1985, he married Susan Louise (Shahan) in Geneva, Ohio.
He was the Director of Management Information Systems at Endicott Johnson Shoes.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Geneva, the Masonic Lodge in Geneva, The Scottish Rite in Cleveland, and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Louise Quinn of Madison; five children, Joseph Louis Quinn II of Madison, Danielle (Marcus) Rice of Virginia, Donna Wilmer of Virginia, Caren (Shawn) Humphrey of Madison, and Carmen (David) Crysler of Claridon; 10 grandchildren, Kara, Joseph, Quin-tara, Johnny, Cory, Mark, Tyler, Shauna, Derrick and John; a sister, Judith A. Kieffer of Zanesville; and two brothers, Dale A. (Dianne) Quinn of Loganville, Ga., and Timothy B. (Shirley) Quinn of Monroe, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Louis Quinn Sr.; his mother, Alberta Fijala; and a brother, David L. Quinn.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOMES AND CREMATORY, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio, with the Rev. Charles Oplinger officiating. Final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery in Madison.

JACK E. BENTON
N. BLOOMFIELD - - Jack Edward Benton, age 77, a resident of North Bloomfield, Ohio, died Sunday, August 12, 2007, at the Serenity Manor in Orwell.
Born July 6, 1930, in Orwell, he was the son of Gordon and Ruth (Runser) Benton. Jack was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea.
Mr. Benton was employed with Johnson Rubber and retired from Duramax.
A member of the American Legion Orwell Post and the North Bloomfield United Methodist Church, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and children.
Survivors include his wife, Shelly Benton of N. Bloomfield, Ohio; sons, Dennis (Cathy) Benton of Wayne, Ohio, Thomas (Teresa) Benton of Orwell, Ohio, and Jeffrey (Susan) Benton and Rex Benton, both of North Bloomfield; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Ruth Benton.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at the PAINE-GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 140 East Main St., Orwell, Ohio 44076.
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2007, in Orwell North Cemetery.
ERNEST J. SAVARISE
COLUMBUS - - Ernest J. Savarise, age 72, a resident of Columbus, Ohio, died on Saturday, August 11, 2007, following a long battle with COPD.
He was born Dec. 25, 1934, the son of Philip and Anna (Lombardi) Savarise, in Ashtabula, Ohio, where he resided most of his life, moving to Columbus in 2000. On June 6, 1959, he married Sara (Sally) Muoio in New Brighton, Pa.
Mr. Savarise retired in 1998 from the Ohio Department of Highway Safety as the Drivers Examiner of Ashtabula County.
A former member of St. Joseph Church and BPOE in Ashtabula, he was recently a member of St. Brendan Parish, Hilliard.
He enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns, and he especially enjoyed spending time with this family and his grandson.
Survivors include his wife; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Rene' Savarise of Louisville, Ky.; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Bob Monnin, Hilliard; his grandson, Sam Monnin; brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Bea Savarise; sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Joe Massi; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Linda Rich; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 12 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at ST. BRENDAN THE NAVIGATOR CHURCH, 4475 Dublin Road, with his Funeral Mass to follow at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Fr. Rodric J. DiPietro, Presider.
