BEVERLY J. BENSON
JEFFERSON - - Beverly J. Benson, age 84, of E. Cedar St., Jefferson, Ohio, died early Wednesday morning, June 13, 2007, at the Jefferson Health Center where she had been a patient the past four weeks.
Born Sept. 20, 1922 in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of the late Jerry J. and Elva M. (Lyons) Benson and has lived in Ashtabula County all of her life.
She attended the First Baptist Church in Jefferson; and enjoyed traveling, especially bus trips; going out to eat; and loved her pets. Beverly always enjoyed telling stories and sharing the memories of the years she spent living in the Probation House, when her father served as a Ashtabula County Sheriff and Probation Officer.
She is survived by four cousins, Richard Benson of Conneaut, Jane Puffer of Kingsville Township, Betty Goodale of Conneaut Lake, Pa. and Nick Kissinger of Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three cousins, Bobby Casborne, Phyllis Litwiler and Alfred Kissinger.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at the Jefferson Home of the FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio, with the Rev. Gordon Emerson officiating. Burial will be in Kelloggsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Funeral Home.

HOWARD E. MONTGOMERY
ST. DAVID, AZ - - Howard E. Montgomery, age 94, a resident of St. David, Ariz., passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006.
Born Sept. 2, 1912 in New Castle, Pa., he was the son of the late Christine (Young) and Clair Montgomery. On July 14, 1938, he married Elinor Johnson in Wheeling, W. Va. A Veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
A graduate of Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pa, he also earned degrees from OSU, EMU, and U of M.
Mr. Montgomery was a school teacher in Madison, Ohio, Geneva, Ohio, and retired from Cherry Hill School in Westland, Mich. in 1968.
In Nov. 1974, he and his wife retired to St. David, Ariz. He was a member of Wayne Chapel of Sunset, Arizona.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Elinor Johnson Montgomery of St. David, Ariz.; three daughters, Sharon Baker of Anderson, S. C., Lesley White of Pendelton, S.C., and Ann C. Montgomery of Redford, Mich.; two sons, Terry J. Montgomery of Redford, Mich. and Alden R. Montgomery of St. David, Ariz.; 23 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, Ohio, with the Rev. Robert Cunningham, of the United Church in Geneva, officiating.

JAMES D. LARKO, JR.
LAKEWOOD - - James D. Larko, Jr., age 43, of Waterbury Road, Lakewood, Ohio, and former Jefferson resident, died Sunday, June 10, 2007, at his home.
Born Sept. 26, 1963 in Lackawanna, N. Y., he was the son of James D. and Theresa (DiMare) Larko, Sr. and a graduate of Jefferson High School. A Veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy.
A restaurant manager, professional bartender and waiter, hair stylist, and interior designer, he was also an entertainer and showman in semi-professional theater in the Cleveland area.
A great friend to a lot of people and having a heart of gold, he always had a laugh or smile for people and was a great story teller. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and decorating and will be missed by family and friends.
Surviving him are his mother of Jefferson; two daughters, Candy and Cassie Larko, both of Massachusetts; a sister, Sharon Larko of Jefferson; a brother, Mike Larko of Bonita Springs, Fla.; and many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, and by a sister, Sandy Larko.
Funeral Services will be 12 p.m., Noon, Friday, June 15, 2007, at the Jefferson Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio, with the Rev. Stephen Wassie, of St. Joseph Church in Jefferson, officiating. The Geneva VFW Post # 6846 will conduct Full Military Rites at the Funeral Home.
Calling Hours will be Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Funeral Home.
