CONNEAUT — Charles A. Coville, age 98, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Thursday morning, March 20, 2014, at the Ardis Rhinehart Kremer Home in Conneaut.
Born Dec. 12, 1915, in Conneaut, he was the son of the late Karl R. and Bessie E. (Mahaffy) Coville.
A Conneaut resident most of his life, Chuck graduated from Shaw High School in Cleveland, and was employed as Service Manager at the former Dean Wible Motors in Conneaut, and Sales Manager at Cobbledick Motors in Ashtabula and also at Gill Chevrolet in Conneaut, retiring in 1979. He was an active member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ where he served as a trustee, and also served as a trustee of the Ardis Rhinehart Kremer Home. He served four years as head of Civil Service, and was a former member of the East Conneaut Volunteer Fire Department.
Chuck enjoyed woodworking, woodcarving, model building and traveling.
Survivors include his daughter, Constance (Tom) Madar of Ashtabula, Ohio; his son, Jack M. Coville of Conneaut; three grandchildren, Melissa (William) Glass of Geneva, Ohio, Robert Keenan of Boulder, Colo. and Peter Keenan of Ashtabula; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Margaret H. (Ferguson) Coville whom he married Dec. 5, 1942.
Visitation will be from Noon until 1 p.m., Saturday, March 22nd, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
