ASHTABULA — Janette Sharpe Herzog, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born June 8, 1935, in Akron, the daughter of Mordecai and Jeanette Roderick and had lived in Ashtabula for nearly 30 years at Redbrook, a place she truly loved.
Jan was an inspiration to others through her laughter and true joy of life and will be held in the hearts of all who knew her.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, her survivors include five children, Alice (Peter) Metzloff of Medina, Robert Hamilton (Ashley) of New York, N.Y., Susan (Greg) Woodward of Stow, Jean (Kevin) Mulholland of The Woodlands, Texas and Charlotte (James) Reger of Madison; 13 grandchildren; and two sisters, Susan Anderson of Slidell, La. and Mary Alice Andrews of Chesterland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Clarke Herzog on Sept. 8, 2006; one brother, David Roderick, Ret. USAF; and her parents.
A private Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
