ASHTABULA — Richard “Rick” C. Davis Jr., age 49, of Ashtabula, Ohio, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, in Ashtabula.
Born March 2, 1963, in Ashtabula, he was the son of Richard Sr. and Rose (Daniels) Davis. He attended Harbor High School and Ashtabula High School, graduating in 1981.
He was self-employed and worked for ten years servicing car washes in the area and also worked installing carpet for 30 years.
In his youth, he was a skateboarder and BMX bike rider, earning many trophies. He enjoyed bodybuilding as a hobby, loved hunting and the outdoors, and was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Jeff Gordon. He also enjoyed family time.
He was very patriotic and enjoyed riding his motorcycle with the Patriot Guards on benefit runs.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Martin); father and mother, Richard and Rose Davis Sr.; daughter, Crystal Rio Davis of Madison, Ohio; son, Chris Davis of Ashtabula; stepchildren, Janna Welch and Jon Welch, both of Arizona; grandchildren, Jalyn and Ariana, both of Arizona; brother, Michael of Georgia; nieces, Lindsey and Morgan Davis, both of Georgia; “Smootchie”, his grand-dog; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services are 11 a.m., Friday, March 1st, at POTTI LAKESIDE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery. After services, a gathering of friends and family will be held at the Andrus Party Center, 2255 West Ave., Ashtabula.
Calling Hours are 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28th, at the Funeral Home.
Contributions may be made to the Patriot Guards in lieu of flowers.
