ORWELL — Samuel Lee Howser, age 80, of Orwell, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at the Meadville Medical Center.
He was the son of Marion and Mary (Johnson) Howser, born on Feb. 22, 1933. Samuel was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and a member of the American Legion and Eagles. He was married to Betty Lou (Mohan) Howser on Jan. 22, 1955.
Retired from Carter Diamond Tool, Willoughby, Ohio, he loved spending time with family, cooking, playing cards, pool, and other games of chance and spent over 30 years buying and selling at the flea markets.
Samuel is survived by three sisters; Ruth Follmer, Viola Bledstoe and Dorothy O’Pat; four children, Cathy (Ted) McNish, Carl Howser, both of Hartsgrove, Sam (Nadine) Howser and Joe (Darlene) Howser of Orwell; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; brothers, Jesse, James and Herbert Howser; and sisters, Nancy Miller, Lucy Sechrist and Marie Davis.
Visitation with the family will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 18th, at the PAINE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 140 E. Main St., Orwell, Ohio 44076, from 5 to 6:45 p.m. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held 7 p.m. the same day at the Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Jim Stanley.
