Robert W. Lang Sr.

JEFFERSON — Robert Ward Lang Sr., age 78, died at his home surrounded by his loving family.

The son of Willie and Mary (Dennison) Lang was born on Nov. 14, 1934 in Weston, W.Va. A Veteran, he served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1953, during the Korean Conflict.

On June 10, 1959, he married Kathryn Greenlief in Jefferson, Ohio and they have been together for fifty-four years.

Bob was proud of the work that he did in helping to build the Perry Nuclear Plant. He worked long hours and gained much satisfaction from a job well done.

A man who enjoyed the outdoors and all of its beauty, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bob liked old westerns, where good always triumphed evil, MASH, and playing cards with his friends and family. Everyone knew where they stood with Bob; he had a strong sense of right and wrong and lived his life by that code.

A wonderful husband, dad and grandpa, he loved his family with his whole heart.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kathryn; his children, Rhea (Andy) Lewis of Romney, W.Va., Pam (PeeWee) Riggleman of Shanks, W.Va., Patty Lang of Jefferson and Colleen (Butch) Pownall, also of Romney, W.Va.; 15 loving grandchildren; and 29 devoted great-grandchildren; his siblings, Floe Tress of Jupiter, Fla., Patrick Lang and Judy Whysong, both of Ashtabula and Jackie Adlington, also of Jupiter, Fla.; and many loving nieces and nephews. His special friend and acquired son, Rick Riggleman.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Paul Holcomb in June of 1993; his son, Robert Ward Lang Jr. on Sept. 20, 2011; his brothers, Billy Joe and Jack Lang; and his parents.

Bob has donated his body to the Case Western Reserve Hospital. It was his hope that through donation he would continue to live and help others to learn and teach.

The Family would like to give thanks and gratitude to those people of the Hospice of the Western Reserve of their kindness and caring, not only for Bob, but also for his family.

Memorial Services will be scheduled at a later date.
