MONTVILLE — Todd N. Loar, age 73, of Montville, formerly of Chardon, died Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at University Hospital in Cleveland.
He was born at home July 19, 1940, in Alliance, to George and Rosalie (Wilson) Loar. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea with the 728th MP Battalion.
Mr. Loar founded Loar and Co. Insurance on Sept. 1, 1975 in Chardon. Todd loved his Labradors and enjoyed hunting and shooting. A lifelong NRA member and champion trap shooter, winning the Ohio State single championship three times.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis, whom he married July 13, 1996; sister Cathy (Richard) Bradshaw of New Port Richey, Fla.; brother, Rex Loar of New Port Richey, Fla.; and his first wife, Lona Loar.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Kim Loar.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7th, in the Reception Center on the BRUNNER CAMPUS, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, Ohio 44060.
