GENEVA — Committal Services and burial for Vida M. Roeder, age 94, of Geneva, will be held at 2 p.m., on Monday, March 3rd, at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township.
A Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m., on Saturday, March 15th, at First United Methodist Church of Geneva, 89 S. Broadway, Geneva. Pastor Bruce Hitchcock, of First United Methodist Church of Geneva, will officiate at the Services.
Mrs. Roeder passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at her home. Born Sept. 1, 1919, in Jefferson, she was a lifelong Ashtabula County resident.
She was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Geneva where she served for many years on the Altar Guild. She kept a joy of life and loved spending time with family and friends. She also had a deep love of nature, enjoyed gardening, flowers, feeding and watching birds. In her younger years, she was a wonderful seamstress and made many of her own clothes.
Survivors are loving family, including her daughter, Shirley (Boris) Dioneff of Perry; grandson, Gregory Dioneff of Cleveland; and granddaughter, Lynn (Tim) Bobich and their son, Nicholas, all of Grass Lake, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin Race, Lawrence Orcutt and Fred Roeder; her daughter, Carol Race; her parents, Charles and Lola Hiner; and a sister, Mildred Rowell.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the First United Methodist Church of Geneva, 89 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio 44041.
