MONROE TOWNSHIP — Dorothylee Lewis, age 80, of Monroe Township, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at her home.
Born Feb. 26, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of William and Dorothy (Vaundrank) Gordon. An area resident for more than 60 years, Dorothy married David Lewis on Oct. 10, 1950, celebrating 63 years of marriage this year.
Dorothy loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them, having family picnics, and just being with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed making people laugh, especially pulling jokes. She wrote poetry and enjoyed crafts and bird watching
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, David; her seven children, William (Pam) Lewis of Sheffield Township, Ohio, Mike (Maggie) Lewis of Monroe Township, Christieda Sleigh of Monroe Township, David (Judy) Lewis of Monroe Township, Mark (Kathy) Lewis of Conneaut, Ohio, Brian (Denise) Lewis of Madison, Ohio and Heather Towne (Mark) of Erie, Pa.; and her brother, William (Marlene) Gordon of Meridian, Miss. She will be dearly missed by multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Gretchen in infancy, and Cynthia Lewis; and two sons-in-law, George Sleigh and Randy Towne.
Funeral Services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. April Osborne officiating. Burial will be in Kelloggsville Cemetery, Monroe Township.
Calling Hours will be at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of Service at 1 p.m.
