CONNEAUT — Andrew A. Christo, age 89, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Saturday evening, Oct. 5, 2013, at Lake Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Conneaut.
He was born Dec. 5, 1923, in Conneaut and was the son of Andrew and Elizabeth (Wagonek) Christo.
A lifelong Conneaut resident, Andrew served in the U.S. Navy and Merchant Marines during World War II. He retired as a custodian at The Pittsburgh & Conneaut Dock Company and was a hard worker his entire life.
He was very musical and played the fiddle and guitar and had even made a recording with his brother. He enjoyed writing poems and music.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie (Ron) Summers and Judy (Jack) Lott, both of Conneaut; a step-son, Jack (Pat) Teppo of Massillon, Ohio; a step-daughter, Darlene (Jerry) Evans of Gainesville, Ga.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice in 1997; twin sons, Robert and Andrew Christo in infancy; three step-sons, Gerald Teppo, Eric Teppo and Les Teppo; and two brothers, Albert and Louis.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 10th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with Pastor Dan Halstead, of Family Fellowship Church, officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio, with Military Honors provided by American Legion Cowle Post #151.
Calling Hours will be at the Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
