ASHTABULA — JoAnn Harriet Keller, age 85, of Kingsville, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Cleveland Clinic, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Jan. 23, 1928, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Walter and Harriet “Hattie” (Crecraft) Calaway and had been an area resident her entire life.

A 1947 graduate of Ashtabula High School, she worked at the Kingsville Public Library for ten years prior to her retirement. She previously worked as a custodian and as a bus driver for the Buckeye Local Schools for many years.

She attended the Kingsville First Baptist Church and the Kingsville Presbyterian Church and enjoyed the many friends she made at both churches.

JoAnn was a talented cook, and baker. Her family remembers with fondness her spaghetti and meatballs, chicken and dumplings, macaroni and cheese, and her world famous potato soup.

She had a talent for baking pies, she would be humbled by the many compliments she received about her pies. She could crochet beautifully and gifted many of her family and friends with her creations. JoAnn was a member of the “Red Hat Society”,  and enjoyed the company of her many “Red Hat” friends.

JoAnn will be remembered for her sense of humor, her love of being a grandma and great-grandma, her enjoyment of her friends, but most of all her dedication and support of her family. There was no one as special as her beloved family.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Cindy) Howard of Texas and Brad (Sue) Howard of Conneaut; two daughters, Barbara (Ray) Stokes of Kingsville and Beth (Don) Savel of Kingsville; 15 loving grandchildren; and 15 precious great-grandchildren with one more expected soon; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Howard on Sept. 6, 1980; her second husband, Robert Halton Keller Sr. on Nov. 3, 2011; her nine sisters, Pauline Thompson, Isabelle Braille, Lucille McConnell, Esther Smith, Betty Spencer, Edith Drake, Lillian Proper, Doris Weir and Beverly Montgomery; and her parents.

A Service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, July 29th, at Kingsville Presbyterian Church, 3056 W. Main St., Kingsville, with the Rev. David Hines, Pastor of the Kingsville First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.

Calling Hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, July 28th, at DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio.
