ASHTABULA — Michael Anthony Zalimeni, age 66, of Ashtabula, Ohio, died peacefully at home on Wednesday evening, July 17, 2013.
Born Oct. 26, 1946, in Ashtabula, he was the son of Michael and Eloise (Harrington) Zalimeni.
Michael was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in Korea. He was retired as a trade welder.
Mike enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Susan Zalimeni of Ashtabula; daughters, Wendy Vandeberg of Buttonwood, Pa., and Candice Chambers of Nanticoke, Pa.; grandchildren, Tony, Stevie, Jackie, David, Rayn and Ty; and sisters, Dolores Buck of Madison, Florence Bruno of Riverside, Calif., and Donna DiAngelo of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Zalimeni; and sister, Christine Perkins.
Funeral Service will be 1 p.m. on Monday, July 22nd, at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 West 19th St., Ashtabula, with Pastor Hal Morgan officiating. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard Team from Post #103.
Visitation will be on Monday morning from 11 a.m. until time of Service at 1 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.
