ASHTABULA — Frances L. Downs, age 77, of Ashtabula, Ohio, died peacefully Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Jan. 17, 1935, in Jefferson, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Barbara and Simon Brenkus and lived in Ashtabula County her whole life. She was a 1953 graduate of Jefferson High School and married the late William H. Downs on Feb. 14, 1955.
Frances had been employed at Nelson Machine, Reliance Electric and Fuller Brush.
Her interests included playing slot machines, going to Atlantic City, bingo, bowling with her husband and being involved in all her grandkids lives and activities.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia (Joseph) Boggs, Darlene (the late TJ) Moroski and Catherine Downs, all of Ashtabula; son, William (Michele) Downs of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Joseph (Kim) Boggs, Shaun Doyle, Tricia (Charles Spikes) Boggs, Tamra (Joe Mongell) Moroski, Tim Moroski and Billy and Kyle Downs; her adorable great-grandchildren, Trinity Spikes and Colson Mongell; and brothers and sisters, Sophia Dreslinski, Charles (Mary Kay) Brenkus, John (Leona Jewett) Brenkus and Ben (Lucille) Brenkus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, her husband, William H. Downs; sister; Helen Schiedel; and brother, Martin Brenkus.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15th, at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 West 19t St. in Ashtabula, with burial to follow at Griggs Corner Cemetery.
Visitation will be TODAY, Wednesday evening, Nov. 14th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
