DORSET — Martha M. Cole, age 71, of S. Denmark Road, Dorset, passed away early Wednesday morning, Feb. 13, 2013, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
She was born March 6, 1941, in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., the daughter of William and Evelyn (Huffman) Cole.
Martha attended Lenox and Jefferson Area High School. She really enjoyed doing crafts. She liked to draw, paint, sew and quilt. She was a great cook and enjoyed canning. She also had a large collection of rooster collectibles. She happily participated as a den mother and also helped with girl scouts over the years.
She is survived by her loving companion, Herbert C. Arnett of Dorset; children, Derren W. (Rose) Cole of Jefferson, Brian A. (Kathy) Inman of Pierpont, Teresa L. Abercrombie of Jefferson City, Tenn. and step-son, Barry D. Inman; brother, James C. (Marilyn) Cole of Geneva; sister-in-law, Doreen R. Cole of Jefferson; aunt, Lottie (Reggie) Gillespie of Ashtabula; 10 grandchildren, Kristi (Kevin) Davis, Jarrod Cole, Ashley Cole, Nicholas Inman, E.J. Inman, Taylor Inman, Sara Inman, Cory Inman, Cheryl Abercrombie, and Robert Abercrombie; six great-grandchildren, Melanie Davis and Kohin, Ethan, McKalie, Quenton and Quionna Inman; and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Bradley J. Inman; step-son, Kim E. Inman; and a brother, Billy Joe Cole.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 17th, in the Angel’s Wing of Jefferson United Methodist Church, 125 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Pastor Quincy Wheeler officiating. Burial will take place in Austinburg Center Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family; envelopes will be available at the church. The family has entrusted the Jefferson Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson to handle arrangements.
