She was a loving soul to her two sons, her three grandchildren and her partner, Peter Laird, who stood strong by her side throughout her illness, and for many good times and amazing adventures these past two years and her many friends and family.

Susie graduated from Harbor High School in 1964 and Ithaca College in New York, in 1968, and was licensed as a Physical Therapist in New York and California. Moving west to San Francisco in 1968, Susie met and married Stockton Buck and moved to Portland, Oregon. The Bucks returned to San Rafael, Marin County, Calif. in the early 70’s to start a family.

Susie spent over 40 years as a practicing PT in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she helped to heal the bodies and minds of so many– first as a general PT, and later as a Certified Hand Therapist.

Susie maintained strong connections through her life –Ashtabula, Ithaca, her PT colleagues and patients, and her large network of treasured friends and family. She was a traveler, a quilter, and a marvelous cook. She was a fixture in the local lacrosse community, spending years cheering on generations of family and friends.

Susie Buck is survived by her sons, Trevor (Billie) and Darren; grandchildren, Riley, Luke and Blair; her beloved partner, Peter Laird; her brothers, Richard (Kathy) Hill of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. and William (Alix) Hill of Ashtabula, Ohio; step-sister, Joan (Dick) Benham of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; step-sister-in-law, Joyce Bowdler of Ashtabula; her former husband, Stockton of Bolinas, Calif.; her loving sister-in-law, Leigh Friedman; and many nieces and nephews.
