NORTH KINGSVILLE — Naomi Faye Montgomery, age 79, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 4, 2013, at her home.
She was born Feb. 14, 1934, in Ten Mile, W.Va., the daughter of the late Dewey and Pearl Tenney. Naomi graduated in 1953 from Upshur High School in West Virginia. Naomi married the love of her life, Claude B. Montgomery on Oct. 22, 1955, in Tallmansville, W.Va.
She worked as a cafeteria assistant at Ashtabula General Hospital and Park Haven Nursing Home for many years prior to her retirement.
A member of the First Baptist Church in Kingsville, she enjoyed singing in the church choir, assisting in the church nursery, and reading her bible. Naomi was also an avid card player, getting together with a group of friends weekly to play. She also enjoyed making her own birthday cards and poems.
Survivors include six children, Mark (Annette) Montgomery of Ashtabula, Debbie (Marvin) Bowen of North Kingsville, Barb (Ivan) Sylvester-Stowers of Conneaut, Judy Sanchez of Kingsville, Tina Montgomery of North Kingsville and Samuel (Kari) Montgomery of North Kingsville; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Lucian (Avalon) Tenney of Ashtabula; and one sister, Verna (C. Barry) Pickett of Cincinnati.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 23, 2005; one sister, Avis Smallridge; two brothers, Virgil and Vernon Tenney; and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m., Monday, April 8th, at Kingsville Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Hines officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Calling Hours will be from 3 to 6 p.m., Sunday, April 7th, at the Church.
