She was born Oct. 9, 1929, in Willoughby, the daughter of Andrew G. and Agnes V. (Hudak) Svec and had been a resident of Ashtabula Co. all of her life.  She was married to Joseph J. Dragon Sr. on June 10, 1950, at Our Lady of Victory Church in Andover.

She was especially proud of her Slovenian heritage, making homemade soups and cabbage rolls. Every Wednesday you would find her children at her table eating soup or bringing home take outs from her kitchen. She also enjoyed bowling and playing pinochle and spending time with her family and friends. Most evenings she would walk next door to her special friend “Flo” and have her hair set for the next day. She was a member of St. Joseph Church-Our Lady of Peace Parish and the Ashtabula Elks #208.

She is survived by five children, Joseph J. (Debbie) Dragon Jr. of Ashtabula, David W. (Mary) Dragon of Saybrook Township, Dianne R. (Scott) Johnson of Plymouth Township, Agnes J. “A. J.” McCullough of Painesville Township and Douglas J. “Rose’s family deeply appreciates the loving care she received while a resident at Silver Sands II, a sentimental home for her to pass away at since Silver Sands II was built by her late husband, Joseph. She shared an extended family relationship with the staff and residents.”
