EAST SPRINGFIELD, Pa. — Bruce Lee Wheeler, age 72, of East Springfield, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, May 9, 2013, at the St. Vincent Health Center, Erie, Pa.
Bruce was born in Conneaut, Ohio, on Nov. 16, 1940, the son of the late Howard and Margaret Howland Wheeler. He graduated from West Springfield High School in 1958 and married Patricia A. (Martin) Wheeler.
He worked very hard and enjoyed his family. He retired from J.J. Moore in Erie, Pa. and was a member of the Federated Church where he had served as an Usher for many years. He enjoyed hunting and painting pictures.
Besides his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Wheeler; and an infant sister.
He is survived by his wife, Pat, they were married 47 wonderful years; three sons: Jeffrey L. Wheeler, Michael A. Wheeler and his wife, Ericka, all of West Springfield, Pa., and Douglas E. Wheeler of East Springfield, Pa.; and two wonderful grandchildren, Nathan and Tabitha Wheeler.
Friends may call at the JEAN EVANS THOMPSON FUNERAL HOME, 11883 Main St., East Springfield, Pa., on Monday, May 13th, from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Life Celebration Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, at 11:30 a.m., officiated by Pastor Ed Huntley, of the Federated Church. Burial will follow in Springfield Cemetery, East Springfield, Pa.
