PERRY — Robert A. “Bob” Rought, age 82, of Perry, Ohio, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township, Ohio.
Born July 31, 1930, in Painesville, Ohio, he was a lifelong Perry resident and a graduate of Perry High School.
Bob was drafted into the Army from 1951 until 1953, at that time he and his father started Rought’s Poultry Farm. In 1960, younger brother, Larry, joined his father and brother. Bob was Vice President and a board member of Lake County Farm Bureau for many years and was also a board member of A.S.C.S/Farm Service Agency. He was a kind, soft spoken, caring man, known as “Uncle Bob” to all his friends and family
Survivors include his brother, Lawrence (Carol) Rought; nephew, Douglas (Jeannine) Rought; niece, Sandra (William) Hitchcock; and many more nieces and nephews; also good friend, Gladys Streets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey M. (Turner) and Archie A. Rought; sister, Bernice Jackson; and a brother, Wayne Rought.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2nd, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio, with a Service following at 4 p.m.
Graveside Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 3rd, at The Rought Family Plot in Perry Cemetery.
