CLEVELAND — Karlene R. (Oberg) Luce, age 51, of Pierpont, Ohio, died Wednesday evening, June 26, 2013, following a brief illness at University Hospital Case Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Jan. 4, 1962, to Stieg E. and Frances M. (Clarkson) Oberg and has resided in this area all her life.
Karlene was a homemaker with a love for animals, especially dogs, cardinals and hummingbirds. She rescued many injured and abused animals, and nursed them back to health.
She enjoyed making crafts, camping, going to flea markets and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Charles, whom she married Feb. 16, 1984; son, Bryan and his girlfriend, Katlyn Farr, of Marion, Ohio; three sisters, Karen (Dennis) Woodard and Karil Clark, both of Ashtabula and Kandi (Howard) Beeman of Austinburg; nephews, Aric, Carl and Alex Anderson, Steven Oberg and Jason Beeman; nieces, Sheri Beeman and Kelly Travers; aunt, Delores Clarkson; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; a brother, Kenneth (Cord) Oberg; and three cousins, Kathy Clarkson, Norma Roloson and Charles William Starkey.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at the Pierpont Fire Hall, 6006 Marcy Road, Pierpont, Ohio, on Wednesday, July 3rd, from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Charles Luce family, in care of, Kandi Beeman, 740 Forman Road, Austinburg, Ohio 44010.
