COLUMBUS — Thomas J. Gouhin, age 79, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013.
"Tom" was born in Ashtabula, Ohio, on March 7, 1934. He was a graduate of Ashtabula High School, Class of 1952 and obtained his Bachelor degree from Niagara University, Buffalo, N.Y., in 1956.
A Veteran, he attained the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Hokkaido, Japan from 1956-58. He married the former A. Nadine Sheppard in August of 1957 in Japan. He was a transportation terminal manager for ABF and Lyons Trucking in Columbus, Ohio. In his "retirement", he worked at Lowe's.
Tom was a longtime resident of "Forest Park" and a member of St. Anthony's Parish. He enjoyed life, especially fishing and friends. His smile and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include a son, Brian K. Gouhin; brother, Neil J.(Loverda) Gouhin; and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, A. Nadine Gouhin; and a son, Timothy Gouhin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Saturday, April 27th, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 1300 Urban Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43229, with the Rev. Father Tom Petry as celebrant. A private burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, Ohio.
Family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. until time of Service.
