ASHTABULA — Larry Hoskins, age 62, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at his home.
He was born Jan. 17, 1951, in Louisville, Miss., the son of the late Fred and Doris (Miller) Hoskins. At an early age, his family moved to Ashtabula and he attended the Ashtabula Area City Schools.
Larry worked for Goodwill Industries in the maintenance department until his failing health forced him to retire. He loved all sports, especially the Cleveland Indians and knew all the players by name.
He is survived by two uncles, Gene (Rosie) Miller and Clovis (Bernice Jean) Miller, both of Ashtabula; six aunts, Genetta Murff of Chicago, Ill., Joy (Leonard) Miller and Bernice Jean (Clovis) Miller, both of Ashtabula, Johnnie (Henry) Mitchell of Malvern, Ark., Katherine Riddle of Chicago, Ill. and Ludie Yarbough of Flint, Mich.; one nephew of Milwaukee, Wis.; and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Williesteed Ross; a close family friend, Harold Williamson; six aunts; and six uncles.
A Calling Hour will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. with a Service at 6 p.m., Saturday, June 22nd, at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula. The Rev. Steve Sargent, of Hiawatha COGIC, will officiate. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
