ASHTABULA — Karen Ann Leonardson, age 66, died unexpectedly at her home on Monday, July 22, 2013.
The daughter of Alf and Edith (Ferguson) Leonardson, she was born on March 20, 1947, and had remained a lifelong Ashtabula resident. Karen was a graduate of Ashtabula High School, Class of 1965.
Karen and John Cole met and were instant soul mates. It was with John that she enjoyed her life’s journey.
Karen was a kind and gentle soul. She loved animals and was kept company by her dog “Nike” who was her constant companion.
A wonderful mom and grandma, she supported her family in their journey of life. John and Karen were the best grandparents, they loved their grandchildren deeply and on a moment’s notice they would drop whatever they were doing to help them.
Karen is survived by her loving son, Brett and his wife, Beth (Ensman), Sasso of Ashtabula; her three loving grandchildren, Garrick Anthony Joseph, Collin Michael Doc and Kendal Rene Anne Sasso, also all of Ashtabula; her brother, Bill Leonardson; her dog, Nike.
She was preceded in death by her son, Monty Sasso; her companion and friend, John Cole; and her parents, Alf and Edith Leonardson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be announced at a later date.
