MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP — Geraldine S. (nee: Sorenson) Adams, age 81, of Montville Township, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at UHHS Geauga Medical Center with her sons, daughter, two grandchildren and husband all by her side.

Born July 7, 1932, in Elsinore, Utah, to Max L. and Bertha (nee: Torgenson) Sorenson, she had been a longtime area resident.

Gerre was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, during which time she had many callings. Her current and favorite was staff genealogist at the Kirtland Family History Center which she held for over 25 years. She loved helping others trace their family history as well as continuing to trace her family. She was able to trace as far back as the year 500a.d.

Her greatest love was for her family. Gerre enjoyed flea marketing, worked along with her husband at the Phillip W. Adams Insurance Agency and also worked for the US Post Office. She was a member of the AMVets Auxiliary Post 1968 in Montville.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Phillip Adams of Montville Township; daughter, Victoria “Tori” (Donald) Hartman of E. Claridon; former daughter-in-law, Kathy Adams of South Carolina; sons, Kirk (Debbie Roy) of E. Claridon and Chad (Terrie) of Roaming Shores; grandchildren, Brandy, Kailey and Max Adams, Megan Hartman and Kelsey Adams.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and children, Valerie, Rex and Keith Adams.

Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19th, at the Chardon Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS, 12455 Merritt Road, Chardon, Ohio 44024, with burial to follow at E. Claridon Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at BURR FUNERAL HOME, 116 South St. (On Rt. 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon, Ohio.
