ERIE, Pa. — Richard L. Bish, age 63, of Erie, Pa., died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
Born Jan. 27, 1951, in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was the son of Arnold L. and Edna M. (Yeaney) Bish.
A 1969 graduate of Edgewood High School, Richard served in the U.S. Navy for 12 years and was employed at Vygen and also at International Paper, where he worked as an electrician in the maintenance department.
He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and building models of Navy ships.
Survivors include his ex-wife, Rose Bradley of Tallahassee, Fla.; his daughter, Kerry (Chuck) Waller of Tellico Plains, Tenn.; three sons, Kraig (Brooke) Bish of Conneaut, Ohio, Kevin Bish of Conneaut, Ohio, and James (Laura) Barbra of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Sue Ann Spangler of Rowlett, Texas, and Brenda Bish of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Ashley Bickerstaff of Knoxville, Tenn., Seth Waller of Tellico Plains, Tenn., Ethan, Gavin and Morgan Bish, all of Ashtabula, Ohio, Ryleigh Bish of Conneaut and Milee Bish of Conneaut; and three great-grandchildren, Maddox, Jaxton and Axel Bickerstaff.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lauren Bish.
Graveside Services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, March 6th, in the Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio, with the Rev. Jim Ekensten, pastor of Ashtabula Baptist Church, officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Cowle Post #151. Following the Graveside Service, a Memorial Gathering will be held at the MARCY FAMILY CENTER, 180 Harbor St., Conneaut, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family, in care of MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio 44030, which has charge of arrangements. Envelopes will be available at the Graveside Service and at the Marcy Family Center.
