ASHTABULA — Samuel E. Zickefoose, age 66, of 8163 Harmonsburg Road, Linesville, Pa., died at 7:17 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at his residence.

He was born April 20, 1948, in Bradford, Pa., to Isaac Everett and Leota Alene (Edgar) Zickefoose. He married Shelly Calvin on Oct. 6, 2006. She survives.

He received an associates degree from Venard Bible College in Iowa.

He attended Grace United Methodist Church in Meadville, Pa. He retired in 2000 after 11 years as a control room operator at American Refining Group in Bradford, Pa. Following retirement, he worked part-time at Carter Lumber in Conneaut lake, Pa.

He was a dorm parent and maintenance at Southwest Indian School in Arizona and was maintenance at Camp Burton in Ohio. Heavy equipment operator for Duffy Construction in Smethport, Pa.

He enjoyed going to cattle sales with his grandsons, helping to pick out their 4-H steers each year and watching them show at the county fair.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Greg Zickefoose and wife, Jill, of Bradford, Pa.; two daughters, Jody Zickefoose and her significant other Scott Thomas, of Orwell, Ohio and Amy Chupp and husband, Larry, of Sarasota, Fla.; five grandsons, Seth and Silas Thomas and Austin, Collin and Cody Chupp; three granddaughters, Lauren and Abby Zickefoose and Andie Chupp; four sisters, Dacie Youd and husband, Hank, of Kane, Pa., Edna Taylor and husband, Dan, of Lewis Run, Pa., Darlene Dorward and husband, Pete, of Smethport, Pa. and Shelly Balawejder and husband, Bob, of Sterling, Va.; two brothers, Todd Zickefoose of Marvindale, Pa. and Judd Zickefoose and wife, Claudette, of Chicago, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 6th, at RANDALL FUNERAL HOME, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown, Pa.

Services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, July 7th, at the Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Goodnough, of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.
