ALEXANDRIA, La. — Robert “Bob” C. Leehan, age 76, formerly of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La.
Born on May 28, 1938, in Conneaut, he was the son of the late Timothy Leehan and Grace Leehan Carey. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Harold Leehan.
As a devoted and wonderful father of ten children, he will be sadly missed by Deborah Weaver of Northern Cambria, Pa., Robert Leehan and Charles Leehan, both of Edinboro, Pa., Ronald Leehan of Hessmer, La., Tamithy Saldana of Lake Worth, Fla., Sharon Taylor of North Kingsville, Ohio, Karen Wolfe of Albion, Pa., Jan Doyle of Glenmore, La., Lisa Leehan of Erie, Pa., and Laura Ashurst of Carrolltown, Pa. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Bob worked for Nickel Plate Railroad, but eventually went on to his first love, owning and operating “Leehan Auto Body and Green Acres Lawncare.”
He had a love for cars and on any Friday-Sunday you could catch him at the local race track or watching Nascar. Beside auto racing, Bob lived for the great outdoors and was an avid hunter. He knew “Jumbo Woods” as good as anyone, where he and his sons battled for the biggest buck each year. He was a true Irishman. He also loved to spend time in the flower beds and always had a story to share with “The Kids.”
Memorial Services will be 1 to 3 p.m., Friday, July 4th, at the Log Cabin (next to the Stateline Methodist Church), 7330 Bushnell Road, Conneaut, Ohio 44030, with the Rev. David Blood officiating. Family has reservations at 6 p.m. at Crowley’s Restaurant. If you’d like to join us, ask for details.
