Diane K. Hofius, age 66, of Westview Dr., Jefferson, Ohio, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, June 17, 2014, at her residence.
Born Oct. 9, 1947, in Chardon, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Gertrude M. (Dieffenbacher) Hathy and has lived in Jefferson the past 13 years, previously living in Ashtabula. She attended Kent State University. Diane was married to Craig L. Hofius on Nov. 20, 1992, in Ashtabula, Ohio.
Retiring in 2013, she was employed more than 20 years with Job & Family Services.
Diane enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, flower gardening, doing short vacation trips, especially Niagara Falls and adored her beloved dog, “Ginger”.
Survivors include her husband, Craig; two daughters, Michelle M. (Brian Maple) Manthey of Ashtabula and Nicole R. “Niki” (Mark) Casto of Ashtabula; four grandchildren, Ryan H. Stanton, Kaylee N. Manthey, Zackary C. Maple and Ava D. Casto; a sister, Judy (John) Wilt, and a brother, Dennis (Ruth) Hathy, both of Ashtabula; and several nieces and nephews.
At this time, no services or calling will take place for Diane. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
