ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. — Andrew Dale Erb, age 21, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at his home.
Andrew was born June 23, 1992, in Ashtabula, the son of Robert Erb and Michelle (Mitchell) Leers, he had lived most of his life in Ashtabula before moving to Ellwood City a few years ago. Andrew attended Jefferson High School and graduated from the Ashtabula County JVS in 2010, where he studied CNET (Computer Networking Electronics Technology).
He worked as a melt deck operator at Harmony Castings in Harmony, Pa., a job which he really loved.
Andrew was truly a mommy’s boy. He was intelligent, free-spirited and had a great sense of humor; always joking and being the comedian of the family. He loved fast cars, free style bikes and skateboarding. He liked to play video games and his guitar, and enjoyed listening to punk rock music.
Andrew loved to pick on and argue with his sister, but truly was always there to protect her. He cared for his baby brother as if Damyn was his own son and they shared such a special bond; Andrew often being the one person who could comfort him when he was restless. He always worried about others before himself and tried to help in any aspect he could. He will sadly be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Michelle (Ron Childs Jr.) Mitchell Leers of Ashtabula; his father, Robert (Emily) Erb of Canonsburg, Pa.; sisters, Cassandra Erb of Ashtabula; brother, Damyn Erb of Canonsburg, Pa.; step-brothers, Jared and Sean Parsons, both of Ashtabula; step-sister, Cieara Childs; grandparents, Tom Erb of Ashtabula and Darlene Erb of Kentucky; his roommates and friends since kindergarten, Larry Tichnell and Jamie Kunes; and many other dear friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Erb; and grandparents, Mitch and Gladys Mitchell.
Calling Hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 14th, with a Service to follow at 6 p.m., at DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Glen Warner, Pastor Emeritus, officiating. A private burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his grandmother.
