ATLANTA,, Ga. — Sybil A. Falis, of Atlanta, Ga., joined her husband, Stephen A. Falis, in heaven on Monday, June 23, 2014. She was a resident of Ashtabula for 66 years and celebrated life for 90 years.
Sybil was born April 8, 1924, in Danburg, Ga., to the late Richard and Elizabeth (Turner) Guin.
Sybil was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved playing with her grandchildren and hosting family holidays. Her Christmas Eve dinner was treasured by all and her Memorial day and July 4th picnics always had to have at least one game of "friendly" croquet. Sybil could always be seen and heard while attending her childrens’ sporting events and activities; likewise, she supported her grandchildren in the same manner. She enjoyed reading romance novels, watching movies, and playing the card game Rummy. Sybil was a long time member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and attended Johnson Ferry Baptist Church at her assisted living facility in Atlanta.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lynn (Tim) Zetwick of Muskego, Wis.; her son, Stephen A. Jr. (Sara Ring) Falis of Atlanta, Ga.; and grandchildren Aaron and Amy Zetwick, and Alyx and Addison Falis.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Luelza and Helen; her brother, Richard; and her sister-in-law and faithful friend, Mary Falis.
No calling hours are planned.
