ASHTABULA — Carmel F. Solembrino, age 85, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 9, 2013, at the Country Club Retirement Center.
Born Dec. 8, 1927, in Ashtabula, the daughter of the late John and Jennie (Equilena) Scondi. A lifelong area resident, Carmel attended Ashtabula High School. She later married the love of her life, Ralph Solembrino.
She worked over the years as a cocktail waitress at various places like, Stone Long Beach, Louie Annick Diner, and Mark Little’s Lounge.
Carmel was a member of Our Lady of Peace/ St. Joseph Parish. She also enjoyed playing BINGO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; her son, Ralph Steven Solembrino Jr.; sisters, Frances Sundberg, Theresa Hasson and Rosie Scondi; and brothers, Manuel and Joseph A. Nappi.
Carmel is survived by her sister-in-law, Carmel L. Nappi of Ashtabula; and several nieces and nephews.
At her request, there will be no calling hours or services. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
