WEST SPRINGFIELD, Pa. — Lola Marie Hovis, age 77, of West Springfield, Pa., died unexpectedly Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Meadville Medical Center, Meadville, Pa., of a probable coronary.
She was born April 12, 1936, in Springfield Township, Pa., the daughter of Selah and Ruth (Wetzig) Walbridge.
An area resident most of her life, Lola had worked at the former Laux Drive-in and at G.E. Conneaut Base Plant. She was a member of the “Bingo Club” and enjoyed snowmobiling, watching Nascar racing and crafting.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph P. Hovis whom she married in 1956; her daughter, Tammy Rivers (Dan Killian) of West Springfield, Pa.; two sons Lary (Xiaomei) Hovis of Conneaut, Ohio and Glen (Pam) Hovis of Tularosa, N.M.; seven grandchildren, Jim Seese, Jeremy Seese, Erika Seese, Jeremiah (Amy) Hovis, Joshua (Sarah) Hovis, Beth (Charles) Parker and Amanda (Roy) Parker; five great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Don Walbridge.
Calling Hours will be from 3 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, July 30th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio. A Memorial Gathering will follow at 4 p.m., at the Marcy Family Center, 180 Harbor St., Conneaut, Ohio.
