ASHTABULA — Betty L. Morey, age 95, of Ashtabula, died Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
She was born June 5, 1918, in Vandergrift, Pa., the daughter of Harlan E. and Belva M. (Goodbread) Allshouse and had lived most of her life in the Ashtabula Area.
She resided at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home at the time of her death and previously spent winters in Holiday, Fla.
She had worked for Primrose Beauty Shop as a beautician for 42 years and had started there in 1936. She was a 66 year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula.
She enjoyed reading, going to the Ashtabula Library, going to yard sales, playing cribbage, Bingo and visiting with friends and driving her car and watching game shows on TV.
Surviving her is a son-in-law, James Cawley of McDonald, Pa.; two grandsons, Jay Cawley and Patrick (Carley) Cawley; a great-granddaughter, Madison Cawley; a niece, Patricia (Eugene) Osborne of Ashtabula; as well as other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert “Red” Morey; her daughter, Cheryl A. Cawley; a brother, Gene Allshouse; and a nephew, Bob Allshouse.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 24th, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Long officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery.
Calling Hour will be from 10 a.m. until time of Service, Wednesday, at the Funeral Home.
