Margaret K. “Big Gram” Hamilton, age 98, of East Main St., Geneva, Ohio, died Monday, May 5, 2014, at University Hospitals of Geneva.
She was born Jan. 2, 1916, in Marietta, Ohio, the daughter of Frank and Lennie (Bennett) Warfield.
She had worked in the Nursing Home industry and the Coffee Shop industry most of her life.
She was a member of the Geneva First United Methodist Church; the Jane Adams Mother’s Club; and she had also been active in the Women’s Fellowship groups of the church.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, camping, fishing and visiting casinos with her friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family especially with her great-grandchildren, Alexis and Isaac.
Surviving her is her daughter, Dixie Hamilton of Geneva; her granddaughter, Ann (Curt) Bryan, and her two great-grandchildren, Alexis Northrop and Isaac Northrop.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl “Cotton” Hamilton in 1990; three brothers, Doc, Bob and Dick Warfield; and two sisters, Susie Frank and Ruth Dobbs.
Funeral Service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 10th, at the Geneva First United Methodist Church, 89 South Broadway, Geneva, with the Rev. Bruce Hitchcock officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memory Gardens in North Kingsville.
Calling Hours will be Friday, May 9th, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. at the Geneva Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS & CREMATORY, INC., 323 South Broadway, Geneva.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Geneva First United Methodist Church or to the Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Road, Kingsville, Ohio 44048.
