MADISON — Robert P. Wilson, age 86, a resident of Madison, Ohio, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at home.
Born March 4, 1926, in Portage, Pa., he was the son of the late C. Hazel (Hinkledire) and Roy C. Wilson. Robert was married to Norma E. Kring on July 28, 1947, in Cumberland, Md.
A Veteran, Robert was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp and joined the military at a young age, serving with the U.S. Navy Seabees in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked as a coal miner for 25 years and was a member of the UMWA.
In the early 60’s, he and his family moved to Madison and he worked for several construction companies and the Perry Power Plant.

He is survived by his daughters, Diann (Dennis) Spring of Madison and Joyce (Roger) Smith of Orwell; sons, Bob (Mimi) Wilson of Madison and Michael (Kelly) Wilson of Bluffton, S.C.; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; and seven brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma; his parents; and six brothers and sisters. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 1st, at the BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River St., Madison, Ohio.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2nd, at the Funeral Home. Final resting place will be at Fairview Cemetery in Madison.
