KINGSVILLE — Harold Lee Hays, age 75, of Conneaut, Ohio, died Friday morning, June 13, 2014, at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehab Center, Kingsville, Ohio.
Born Sept. 19, 1938, in Polk, Pa., he was the son of George and Lillian (Bell) Hays. Harold Lee lived in Mississippi for many years before returning to Conneaut six years ago.
He was an OTR truck driver for 50 years with Petty Leach Trucking, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed auto racing and at one time built and raced race cars. He was seen every Friday night at Raceway 7, and also enjoyed eating out.
Survivors include his daughter, Robin Million of Conneaut; three sons, Gregory (Grace) Hays of Oceanside, Calif., Russell Hays of Conneaut, and Bryan (Kim) Hays of Redlands, Calif.; two grandchildren, Joshua Million and Emily Hays; a brother, Larry Hays of Sacramento, Calif.; and a number of more distant relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two siblings, Robert Hays and Georgia Gibson.
At Harold’s request, no visitation or services will be held.
