Jody Lee Suerdieck, age 55, of Conneaut, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, June 5, 2014, at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born Oct. 2, 1958, in Tipp City, Ohio, the daughter of the late James and Betty (Smith) Suerdieck. She graduated from Conneaut High School Class of 1977, and had remained a lifelong area resident.
Jody began her working career at Valu King in Conneaut; she then worked for many years at Plycraft and the former Commercial Testing and Engineering, which is now SGS. She was most recently employed with the Conneaut Area School System as an assistant to the Treasurer.
Over the years, Jody was a member of bowling teams and dart leagues, she enjoyed watching movies, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. Her siblings, nieces, nephews, and friends, were by far the most important things to her. She enjoyed every opportunity she got to spend with them.
She is survived by her sister, Tammy (Scott) Ledford of Conneaut; brother, Ron (Peggy) Suerdieck of Tipp City, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Toby (Karin) Suerdieck, Shelly (Greg) Braun, Zachary Ledford and Taylor Ledford; and three great-nieces, Taylor Braun, and Morgan and Madelyn Suerdieck.
Jody was preceded in death by her sister, Vicky Suerdieck in 2010; and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 10th, at THOMPSON-SMITH-NESBITT FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Samara Jenkins, of Kinsman United Methodist Church, officiating. Inurnment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Tipp City, Ohio, at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of Service at 7 p.m.
