HOLYOKE, Mass. — Maria Ivelisse Rivera, age 26, formerly of Ashtabula, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 24, 2013, at her home.
She was born July 18, 1986, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Roberto Rivera and Rosa Pagan Cosme and had been an Ashtabula resident most of her life.
She attended Ashtabula High School and enjoyed listening to music, playing cards and volleyball. Maria had a smile that everyone loved and she loved being with her family, especially her children, nieces and nephews.
Her survivors include her partner in life, Arnaldo Ortiz of Holyoke, Mass.; two children, Arnaldo Ortiz Jr. and Karina I. Ortiz; her mother, Rosa Pagan of Ashtabula; her father, Roberto “Pipo” Rivera of Geneva; and four siblings, Angela M. Rivera, Yaritza Rivera, Jose Rivera and Giovanni Miller.
She was preceded in death by two cousins, Luis A. Cruz and Samuel Marrere; and her great-grandparents, Antonio Pagan and Josefina Torres of Jayuya, Puerto Rico.
She will be sadly missed by the Rivera, Pagan, Cruz and Cosme families and her many friends.
Calling Hours will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., Today, April 4th, at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio.
A Committal Service and burial will be held 11 a.m., Friday, April 5th, at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 3140 E. Center St., North Kingsville.
