RALEIGH, N.C. — William F. “Bill” Knipper went on to meet his Lord on Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
Bill was the son of Cyril and Frances Knipper, born May 9, 1939 in Oswego, N.Y. and raised in Erie, Pa. He was a 1957 graduate of Cathedral Prep in Erie and a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard and served during the Vietnam War.
He was employed by True Temper Corporation in Geneva, Ohio and Assumption Church and School, also in Geneva and Retired from St. Raphael Catholic Church and School in Raleigh N.C. after 18 years of service. Bill lost his wife Patricia on April 13, 2011, after 37 years of marriage and now they are together once again with our Lord.
Bill was a Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus, Past Grand Knight of Council 9880 in Raleigh and Past District Warden. A member of American Legion Post 187 in Wake Forest, NC., and a member of St. Raphael Roman Catholic Church.
He is survived by his children, William Knipper, Brian Knipper, Margaret Knipper Tokarsky and Kathleen Knipper Mazanek; and step-children, David Walker, Richard Walker, Lu Ann Walker Strickland and Christine Nellies Dornburg.
The Family will receive Friends and Relatives from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, June 30th, at RENAISSANCE FUNERAL HOME, Raleigh, N.C.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 p.m., Monday, July 1st, at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church.
