ASHTABULA — Alice Marie Bradley, age 66, passed away unexpectedly from a massive stroke on Friday, March 29, 2013, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.

She was born May 13, 1946, in Little Rock, Ark., the daughter of Ira Young Sr. and Lucille (Moore) Young and had been a longtime Ashtabula resident. After attending Ashtabula High School, she married the love of her life, Jesse Bradley on Feb. 27, 1965, and they were blessed with three children and 45 years of marriage before he passed away.

She worked for True Temper for 16 years and, together with her husband, they owned and operated Brad’s Delicatessen on Station Avenue since 1973.

A member of Peoples Missionary Baptist Church, Alice was active in the nurses guild and mass choir. She enjoyed church, gospel and blues music, hunting, fishing, and traveling. She also dearly loved her family.

Her survivors include three children, Denise and Monique Bradley, both of Cincinnati and Alhaji (Tammy) Bradley of Ashtabula; four grandchildren, Tevin, Caleb, Tristan and Madison; her mother-in-law, Iola Bradley of Ashtabula; seven brothers, Nathaniel (Thelma) Jones, Ira Young, and Mitchell (Nancy) Jones, all of Ashtabula, Willie Jones Jr. of Conneaut, Mark (Helen) Jones of Painesville, and Joe (Mildred) and Vernon Jones, both of St. Louis, Mo.; four sisters, Mary Jean Mathers and Annette Jones, both of Ashtabula, Georgetta Wells of Maple Heights, and Carolyn Dyer of Phoenix, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse L. Bradley on April 5, 2010; two sisters, Alma Shoemaker and Ursel Jones; her step-father, Willie Jones; and her parents.

Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, April 6th, at Peoples Missionary Baptist Church, 3837 West Ave., Ashtabula from 10 to 11 a.m., with a Service at 11 a.m. The Rev. German Womack, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
